The following poems and pictures were created by children from Manifold CE Academy. Their work was inspired by the Warslow Barns Trail.

The Warslow Field Barns Trail was created by cultural heritage officer Catherine Parker Heath and the South West Peak volunteers, with some help from the school children too. The trail takes you to the field barns and forgotten farmsteads of Warslow Moors.

After learning about the historic field barns, the children were asked to write poems and draw pictures. The results, as you can see, were fabulous.

Whilst we loved them all, we could only choose one to be used in the Warslow Field Barns Trail leaflet, and this was a picture and poem by Annie Wallace, aged 8. However, all the poems and pictures are shown here – we wish we could have included them all in the leaflet.

Thank you to all those pupils who contributed. We think you will agree they certainly captured the essence of these historic structures.
