About Jackie

Jackie is our Youth Engagement Officer, hosted by the Peak District National Park Authority and is responsible for delivering our Beyond the Classroom project. Jackie will be working with secondary schools in and around the South West Peak offering fieldwork opportunities in science and geography. Alongside this she will support students in gaining their John Muir or Peak District Awards.

Jackie has worked as a teacher of geography and environmental science in the mainstream education sector and found her passion in sharing the wonders of the natural world with her students. In school she developed a wildlife garden, creating habitats and surveying species in the garden with students. She has spent time volunteering with the Moors for the Future Partnership helping with the important mission of community engagement. Jackie is a keen wildlife photographer and can often be found crouched down in a meadow looking for tiny invertebrates to identify and photograph.

Jackie is devoted to working with young people and giving them the opportunities to enjoy the many benefits the natural world has to offer.
