Eyes open to report moorland fires

29 June 2018

Roaches moorYou will most likely have seen from the news about the devastating fire that is burning on the Tameside fringe.  The Met Office fire severity index is currently showing prolonged hot weather conditions which will only increase the risk of fires in the National Park.

Keep your eyes open when out and about on or near the moorlands.  If you spot any smoke or fire please dial the fire brigade on 999.
