About Sally

Sally Bentley is our Community Grants Officer and is hosted by Support Staffordshire as part of the Engaging Communities Project. She has set up and runs the Grants Panels and administers the £600,000 Community Grant Scheme.

Working closely with Ruth Wilson, Community Engagement Officer, to involve local groups in celebrating, conserving and protecting the built, natural and cultural heritage of the South West Peak; Sally will help guide potential grant applicants through the process of applying to the SWP Community Grants Scheme as well as assisting them with other sources of funding where necessary.

Sally has worked in the voluntary sector for 14 years and has many years’ experience of administering grant schemes, having delivered the Churnet Valley Living Landscape Partnership Community Grants Scheme as well as the Robbie William’s Give it Sum Fund along with other, smaller, local funds. She manages a team of over 50 volunteers through her other role at Support Staffordshire as Voluntary and Community Transport Officer, and has a good understanding of the issues facing rural communities.
