BEST PRACTICE IN WILDFLOWER SEED GATHERING

TUESDAY 30TH APRIL 2019, 1.30 – 4 PM

Location: Warslow

As part of our restoration plans we are looking for volunteers to help collect seed from a variety of wildflower species from sites across the South West Peak.

Wildflower seeds need to be collected carefully, cleaned, dried and stored until they can be used.

This event will look at the best time to harvest seed, consider ripeness, how to store seed, labeling, health and safety, and general best practice guidelines.

Once you have attended this event you will be able to take part in our seed collection activities and contribute to restoring 50 ha of grassland.

Part of the day will be indoors and part outdoors. Be prepared for the outdoors and make sure you bring suitable footwear and clothing as well as a packed lunch.
